On June 11, 2008, Bunge helped Progressive Farm Safety teach children about grain safety. Bunge North America is a Two Star sponsor of Progressive Farm Safety. The event, held in Kamsack, Sask., was to help children make safe choices when around grain.

Approximately 86 students learned about grain entrapment and watched a gravity wagon demonstration. Both of these presentations were to teach children about the hazards associated with grain, including being trapped in grain.

Bunge representatives, Rick Cherepuschak from Nipawin and Glen Frieze from Harrowby, were present at the event and were able to tell the children a little bit about Bunge, what canola is and the process of making canola oil. After the event was over, the children each received a one litre bottle of canola and a Bunge lunch bag.
